Playing 7 Card

It can take you a lifetime to master 7 card stud, the classic poker variant. Throughout a 7 card hand, seven cards are dealt individually to the players, but the best 5 card poker hand that is possible for a player determines the winner.

# Ante: All the players ante a small amount before a hand of 7 card begins.

# Third Street: Initially, three cards are dealt to each player, two are hidden cards and one card is face up. The player who has the lowest exposed card has to begin the action. Either a nominal bet has to be made, or if the players wish, they can go in for a full lower betting increment bet. The action goes clockwise round the table till the betting is completed.

# Fourth Street: Another up card, the Fourth Street, is then dealt to each player. The player who has the highest poker value in his exposed cards has to start the action now. He can check or bet and a round of betting takes place.

# Fifth Street: One more up card, the Fifth Street, is now dealt to each player. Again, the player with the highest poker value in his exposed cards has to act first. Again a round of betting takes place.

Starting from here, all the bets are now in the big bet increments.

# Sixth Street: Another up card, the Sixth Street, is now dealt to each player. The same sequence of actions as with fourth and fifth streets now takes place as also a round of betting.

# The River or Seventh Street: The seventh and final card is now dealt to each player face down, only known to the player who receives it. Again the player with the highest poker value cards acts first. Now the final betting round takes place, and if there is more than one remaining player, the Showdown takes place.

# The Showdown: When the last betting round has been completed, the last raiser or bettor shows his cards first. The other hands in the Showdown are shown clockwise round the table.

The player who has the best 5 card hand is the winner. If there are identical poker hands, the pot is split equally among the best hand players. After the awarding of the pot, another round of 7 card stud poker is all set to begin.
